how to install kodi on new apple tv
Step-by-step guide on how to sideload the package on the fourth-generation Apple TV.
If your Apple TV is running tvOS 9.1 and up, you need to install the
latest Xcode 7.2 or over on the Mac.If the Apple TV is running tvOS 9.0, Xcode 7.1 will do the job.Xcode is free, and can be downloaded from the Mac App Store
A free but active Apple Developer account. If you have one, you can create one easily for free A USB-C to USB-A cable.
Step 1: To begin, connect your Apple TV 4 to your Mac using the USB-C to USB-A cable.
Step 2: launch Xcode on your Mac and select Create a new Xcode project  from the main Xcode screen. Make sure that tvOS Application is selected in the left menu, followed by selecting Single View Application and then clicking Next.
Step 3: Give the project a Product Name and Organization Name of your choosing in the relevant fields and make sure that you type in a unique Bundle Identifier as well. Bundle Identifiers tend to take a reverse domain style name. As an example, we will use com.genetix.kodiappletv here. Once all information is entered, click Next to proceed and save the project to a familiar location when prompted.
Step 4: First thing you will notice in the main Xcode interface under the Identity heading is that it is complaining about not being able to find a matching provisioning profile. Click the Fix Issue button to allow Xcode to resolve this issue.
Step 5: Xcode will now prompt you to sign in with an Apple ID and
password that is associated with your developer account. Click the Add button and sign in using your credentials. If prompted again, simply select your Apple ID from the drop-down box and hit the Choose button to proceed. Xcode will then perform the necessary actions and create a provisioning profile.
Step 6: Now launch the iOS App Signer app. Select the relevant Signing Certificate. Under Provisioning Profile, select the name of the project you created in Xcode earlier from the drop-down menu within the app. The Input File is essentially asking for the Kodi deb file so click Browse , locate the downloaded Kodi deb file, and select it.
Step 7: Input a name for the output IPA file in the App Display Name field and hit the Start
button. iOS App Signer will package the file together with the
necessary entitlements and will output an IPA file when complete.
Step 8: Head back into Xcode and from the Window menu select the Devices
option. Select your connected Apple TV device from the list on the
left-hand side, and click the button in the main interface under
the Installed Apps heading.
Step 9: Now locate the Kodi IPA file that was packaged together by iOS App Signer in Step 7 and select it. The package will now be installed to your Apple TV 4.

Your TV is buffering, freezing, kicks out and is not stable to normally watch the IPTV signal.
Buffering problems occur due to:
1.The lack of bandwidth – a) too much traffic in the pipes provided by the ISP or b) too much garbage in the traffic.
2.Local traffic – you are using torrents (downloading and uploading music, movies, games etc.).
3.Local traffic – your computer is infected with viruses and they are killing your network by constantly sending and receiving things over the internet without your knowledge.
4.Wired routers incapable of transferring streaming video.
5.Wireless routers incapable of properly sending streaming video, or misconfigured, or not secured.
Solutions to above problems:
1.The lack of bandwidth – All of the customers subscribed to IPTV require High Speed Internet – at least 2Mbps for it to work correctly. This means you are subscribed with your ISP for the service of 3Mbps, 5Mbps or 7Mbps or higher. Just because you are paying for the High Speed does not mean you are getting it. To check your speed go to http://www.speedtest.net/ and do the Bandwidth Speedtest. Make sure to do the test at the same time when you are having buffering problems. If the speed test comes back above 2Mbps move on to the next suitable solution, if it comes back lower than what you are paying your ISP for, call them and tell them you are not provided with the service you are paying for. If they can not resolve it, start looking for a new ISP.
2. Local traffic – you are using torrents. If you are using torrents or download managers at the same time as watching IPTV, the TV WILL NOT WORK. Torrent will consume ALL of the possible resources of your network and leave nothing for IPTV. The solution is very simple – do not download movies while using IPTV.
3. Local traffic – your computer is infected with viruses. Most likely you do not even now that you are infected. First thing to do is to turn off the computer and see if the IPTV is still buffering. If the buffering stops – your PC got viruses. We suggest the virus removal program from Kasperskyhttp://www.kaspersky.com/ . Purchase, download and scan. This should resolve the issue.
4.Wired routers incapable of transferring streaming video. Most of the routers that are 2 years or older were not designed to transfer streaming video. If the router has problems with interpreting the protocols and passing on the information it will make the IPTV buffer. Routers found to be more reliable and work better and with fewer problems are made by D-Link. To trouble shout your router go to solution #6.
5.Wireless routers incapable of properly sending streaming video, or misconfigured, or not secured.
6. Wireless router connected to STB by wire. All wireless – G routers were having a problem with transmitting the streaming video signal. One and only suggestion – get a newer router that supports streaming video. Check our list of suggested items page and replace. For wireless – N routers if you have checked solutions 1, 2, 3, 6 and it is still buffering check your routers setup. In the newer wireless – N routers check your firewall settings and make sure that it allows RTSP and MMS. If there is a timeout or prebuffer section, set it to 5 seconds.
7.Wireless router connected to STB wireless.
i. All wireless routers must be setup with security. If your router is unsecure and does not require a key to connect to, than it is most likely the reason for the problems with your internet. All unsecured routers are very easy to connect to, meaning that all of your neighbors are sharing your internet connection while you are the one paying for it, and are not able to use its full capabilities. To check if you are secured or not check your owners manual for the router, or if you do not have the manual use our Useful links page to find your manufacturer and download a guide. Now setup your router with secure connections. Attention: wireless STB can only be setup with WEP security!
ii. If it is a wireless – G router it is most unlikely to be able to send a quality signal unless it is sitting in the range of 5-10 feet or less and no barriers in between. So, if it is a wireless – G router and you have check problems 1, 2, 3 and 6 it is time to replace the router. Check our list of suggested items and replace.
iii. If it is wireless – N router and it is having problems check out solutions 1, 2, 3, 6 and 5.b.i
iv. Video on Demand is not working but TV channels are playing fine, or TV is not working and Video on Demand is playing fine. You have a newer version of the wireless – N router and must set it up to allow RTSP and MMS or simply disable the firewall. Check your manufacturer manual or if you do not have the manual use our Useful links page to find your manufacturer and download a guide.
If all of the above fails… go directly to the source. Unfortunately this can only be done with some DSL providers (internet over the phone line) that have username and password setup in their modem or all of the cable providers (internet over cable).
If your internet is provided by a cable company, plug in your STB (IPTV box) directly into the router, unplug the power from the router and STB, turn on the router and in 30 sec. turn on STB. If the problem disappears then you have a problem with your internal network – most likely a router. Check our list of suggested items and replace.
If your provider is DSL (internet over the phone line) and you know that modem has username and password setup in it, do the same as the above in the part a. if you are not sure, call your ISP to find out.
Streaming Problems FAQ’s
This is a buffering problem. The buffering can be attributed to your Modem connection, your ISP, or Internet traffic in general,. The most likely culprits are Internet traffic and the station’s server being overloaded. If your doing other Internet intensive work may increase buffering as well. So shut everything else down.
Upgrade your router/broadband supplier
Check that your wireless router is modern and 802.11n compatible rather than the older 802.11b/g. Then check with your broadband supplier, the speed of your internet broadband connection. Many providers offer faster services.
Some Firewalls (used in Networks) make it impossible to receive streaming media. Ask your Network administrator for help.
Sometimes the connection is very slow and it can take a while before the channel starts playing, have a little patience.
problems using Smart IPTV?
Q: Does Smart IPTV contain any channels? Where can I get a good playlist?
A: No, Smart IPTV application does not include any channels and no information will be provided about where you can get channels or channel packages.
Q: My MAC address has changed after I switched to another connection type.
A: Each TV has 2 MAC addresses (1st is WiFi, 2nd is Ethernet) and a 2nd MAC is activated automatically after you switch to another connection type and restart the app.
Q: I get “Server (URL) connection timeout” or “Check playlist URL” messages, when starting the app, while my playlist URL that works on my computer, other devices and apps.
A: Try example test list http://siptv.eu/lists/example.m3u (external URL) first, then then check your playlist for errors. Make sure your URL is a direct link, not a redirect and that it is currently online. You can also try downloading your playlist file by putting the playlist URL in the internet browser address field and use it as a static playlist at My list page. Additionally, try reducing your playlist size by removing channels/movies (especially if you have LM series LG TV with limited memory). If your playlist doesn’t appear on TV or disappears after restart, try checking Keep online box, when uploading the playlist. You can also try resetting Smart HUB if you have Samsung TV. TVs have limited memory available for app storage, so if your playlist is too big (~5 Mb), it will fail to save in TV’s memory.
Q: Why do I get “Stream failed”, “Cannot connect”, “Buffering…” messages with my playlist that works on my computer and other devices?
A: Try example test list http://siptv.eu/lists/example.m3u first, then make sure all your stream links work (not dead) and codecs are supported by your TV. Every TV make and model are totally different and may or may not support specific stream formats:
– Samsung Tizen (J/K series) supported formats and codecs
– Samsung non-Tizen (E/F/H series) supported formats and codecs
– webOS supported formats and codecs
– Android platform supported formats and codecs
If you have LG webOS TV, you can also try changing Stream Player Type to NC Auto in application settings.
All channels are junking/Laggy when i am watching, how to fix?
Reboot your router & device, and try again.
How to Stop HD Video from Freezing while Playing in VLC
When high definition videos of large sizes are opened in VLC Media Player—the HD video doesn’t play perfectly at all times. The HD video freezes and skips a few frames while the audio plays perfectly. The video might hang a few seconds and loop around the same point again. This is an error that is not so rare to the users of VLC. Fortunately, there are a number of ways that you can try to fix the video lag.
There isn’t a single or perfect solution to fixing the choppy videos. If you have to play movie files that take up large GBs of space there are a couple of things we can do. The basic idea is to increase the number of seconds videos are cached. It doesn’t matter whether the videos are being played locally from a hard drive or from a network location. VLC needs to cache the video in the player itself while playing. We can increase the cache to ensure that the videos play smoothly. The other thing that improves HD video frame rate is switching the video output to DirectX DirectDraw or OpenGL. Make some changes in the video FFmpeg codec also seems to help.
So, to fix this video freezing issue try a combination of these methods till the video plays smoothly:
Increase Cache Values
Even when playing an offline video, VLC needs to cache it. It preloads a certain portion of the video from the hard drive to your computer’s main memory or RAM. From there, the player accesses it and plays it. It happens constantly as a video is being played. For HD videos, buffering larger portions to the memory helps with the constant lag.
Here’s how to increase file caching
- Open Tools > Preferences [CTRL + P].
- In Show settings select the All
- In Advanced settings, click on the parent option that says Input / Codecs.
- In Input / Codecs scroll down to the options under the heading Advanced.
- Change the values for File caching (ms) from 300 to a higher value like 1000 or 2000. The value is in milliseconds.
Note: You can also change the values for Network caching (ms) and Disc caching (ms) to see whether it improves your playback performance. Network caching is for files that are stored on a network but are being played in your current system.
Change Video Output Settings
- In the menu bar, click on Tools > Preferences [CTRL + P].
- From the options present, click on Video.
- In Video Settings, under Output change the value from Automatic to DirectX (DirecDraw) video output. Try OpenGL video output as well.
- Click Save.
FFmpeg Loop Filter Skipping
- Open up Tools > Preferences [CTRL + P].
- Under Show settings click the radio button that says All to switch from Simple to Advanced Preferences.
- Navigate to Input / Codecs > Video Codecs > FFmpeg.
- Under FFmpeg audio/video decoder find the option that says Skip the loop filter for H.264 decoding.
- Change it from None to All.
Additional and Optional Step
- In the same FFmpeg audio/video decoder settings, find Hardware decoding and ensure the value is Disable.
Click Save at the end.
What can I do about buffering / freezing?
What can I do about buffering / freezing?
Reset (disconnect power supply for 10 seconds) your modem/router and Devices.
Freezing and Buffering are NOT the same thing. One common form of buffering occurs when your broadband connection is too slow to stream a video in real time. So your computer will buffer the video data — starting playback when there is enough to prevent video lag. If you see this happen often, it might be time to upgrade your broadband speed, or maybe reset your router, if the download rate is lower than advertised by your Internet provider. Freezing is a momentary interruption of the “feed”. It happens alot when you use wifi.
Please make sure you have high speed 20mbps or higher on the download and it should be unlimited.
needs at least 20-30MBPS of Internet speed or you’re going to get lots of buffering and also depends on how much traffic is running through the router. Remember that if you have only 20mbps and there is already 2 devices connected, your IPTV may not function properly.
How many other electronic devices are in close proximity to your modem/router and or your IPTV DEVICE? They may be interfering (RFI) with your IPTV DEVICE!
Wifi or Ethernet…I recommend ETHERNET…remember you can use the “Powerline devices” to get your ETHERNET connection anywhere in your home. Microwaves can and do interfere with wifi signals.
Check your internet speed when you do get buffering….you may be surprised at how slow your internet is at the moment.
Buffering issue on my TV when watching or browsing online?
Buffering issue on my TV when watching or browsing online
Buffering may occur in your Samsung Smart TV while playing any video (especially High Definition) thru Smart Hub. The buffering issue when playing video/s online is dependent on the internet speed and how your Smart TV is connected to the internet (i.e. wired or wireless).
■ To test the speed of your internet follow the steps below:
( Verifying the Speed of internet )
Note: You can try this with another device that is connected to the same network, if Speed Test is not feasible via the TV unit (example: TV models not supporting Flash Player).
Step 1: Open an Internet Browser. Go to Speedtest.net.
Step 2: Go to Begin test and start the test by pressing the enter key from remote.
Step 3: Perform Download & Upload Test.
Step 4: Verify Ping, Down, and Up, then refer to this table:
|1||53||2.5 MB||20||Very Fast|
|5||Higher||Lower||Lower||Signal too Weak|
■ For case no.5, it is required to bring router closer to the TV, otherwise – contact Internet Service Provider (ISP).
■ You may also try to test and compare the internet speed using either wired or wireless connection to help you isolate the issue.
■ If your TV is still buffering, check if your TV has the latest firmware update installed.
How to stop buffering on Kodi?
1. Before you even delve into the software, your first start should be testing your internet connection. Generally, HD content will need a connection speed of at least 10Mbits/sec, so go to speedtest.net to see exactly what you’re working with.
2. If your speed is under 10Mbits/sec, check to make sure you’re not too far from your router. Also make sure that no other devices are streaming, downloading or doing any other larger tasks that could suck up your bandwidth. If there are, turn them off.
3. If you find your stream is still lagging, it’s worth effectively opening up the bonnet, and tweaking a few of Kodi’s cache settings. Cache can be thought of like slack in a rope: the more slack you have, the more patchy your stream can be without causing interruptions.
4. The only issue? Cache takes up memory, and since Kodi is designed to run on something as small as a Google Chromecast, it doesn’t use much of it. However, there’s a way to increase the amount of cache Kodi uses, and that’s done via the advancedsettings XML file.
6. Tweaking Kodi’s buffering systems requires some fairly basic coding, but to make things easier, we’ve written it out for you below:
<buffermode> 1 </buffermode>
<readbufferfactor> 1.5 </readbufferfactor>
<cachemembuffersize> 104857600 </cachemembuffersize>
7. Copy and paste the above into a notepad file, and then make sure it’s saved exactly as. Once that’s done, you’ll need to drop it in your user data file, but the location varies depending on the version of Kodi you’re running.
|Windows||Start | search ‘%APPDATA%\kodi\userdata’ | Enter|
8. If you’ve done all of the above, you should find Kodi is running smoother and faster than ever before!
Fix buffering on IPTV Stalker Kodi using Googles DNS
How to fix IPTV Stalker buffering issues, really simple to do. We all want our Iptv Stalker running smooth as it is live tv after all. So check out these simple steps.
Change your router’s DNS to Googles DNS servers:
It is best to make these changes in your router, like that you won’t have to change it individually on all of your devices.
Buffering XBMC : what is the cause and how to fix it?
1) Check your download speed:
If you want to successfully watch an SD stream then a minimum of 2mbps download speed is recommended , could be as little as 150MB but the same one in HD could be anything up to 100x that number! Go to http://speedtest.net and run the speed test to see what download speed you’re getting, if it’s showing a lower figure than you expected then it may well be your router…
2) Reset the router:
If you’re using the router supplied by your ISP there’s a good chance it’s the cheapest one they could find and these are prone to playing up! Quite often you’ll find cheap routers need a reset so if you’re getting low speeds unplug your router at the mains for 1 minute and then plug it back in and give it a minute to reconfigure, run the speedtest again and see if you’ve got any speed increases.
3) Check for other processes running on your network:
Remember whatever download speed you have is shared between anyone using the same connection, if someone else in the household is playing a game with their friends on Xbox Live then this will lower the speed you can get, the same goes with anyone streaming content in another room. Downloads (especially torrents) can use up a lot of bandwidth, if you’re having issues then consider pausing them or setting the download speed much lower.
If you intend to use XBMC for accessing online streams then it’s highly recommended to use a wired connection rather than wireless, this is especially true when watching live streams as you only need one dropped packet and the stream will stop. Some units have very good Wi-Fi antennas but most don’t, if you’re struggling with your Wi-Fi connectivity then you may want to consider homeplugs (sometimes referred to as powerline adapters, although that’s a brand much like Hoover/vacuum cleaner). These give the feel of wireless as you have no long wires around the house but they are actually wired, they are little adaptors that plug into your mains socket and convert your mains circuit into a local network. These are very simple to use and if you shop online you can pick them up very cheaply, certainly in the UK you can get a twin pack for around £20 however as with anything there are good and bad makes so do your homework. It’s not advisable to use these if you live in shared accommodation such as apartment blocks that use the same mains circuit, anyone on the same mains circuit can simply plug an adaptor in their mains socket and will be using your internet connection.
5) I ABSOLUTELY have to use Wi-Fi but can’t use homeplugs:
If you absolutely have to use Wi-Fi then the only thing you can do is make sure you have a good quality router and the higher you place it the better the signal (in theory!). If you have an XBMC device with an internal Wi-Fi antenna and the signal is weak you may want to consider modifying it so the antenna is external. Devices that have internal antennas can be prone to interference from other internal components and this is especially true if using little Android TV Sticks – some manufacturers seem to think it’s a good idea to have the antenna next to the HDMI connector… it’s not!
6) Hardware specific:
The stop/start buffering effect may have absolutely nothing to do with your internet speed and it may be hardware related, unfortunately the only real way of finding a solution is doing lots of research – google is your friend! Some hardware (especially android) may be sold as being 1080p compatible and that may well be the case, however that doesn’t mean XBMC can play 1080p content on that device, in fact it may even struggle with 720p! Things have certainly got much better since the release of XBMC v.13 (Gotham) and there is much greater compatibility with all the different android chipsets but there’s still plenty out there that either need special builds, tweaks or simply aren’t capable of delivering HD content via XBMC at all.
Remember when buying any hardware always check our compatibility thread and hardware section before making that all important decision, if you can’t find any information feel free to ask and someone may be able to advise.
If you’re using very dated devices such as the ATV1 or Xbox they aren’t able to output at 1080p as they just don’t have the necessary hardware for it.
FAQ 1: Can I cache to a hard-drive that XBMC isn’t installed on? No, you can only cache to the device XBMC is installed on.
FAQ 2: How do I delete cache? Cache is automatically deleted once playback has stopped, there is no need to manually delete.
FAQ 3: Why isn’t this enabled by default? Caching to your storage device will cause much more of a strain on your HDD (or whatever your storage device is) as it will constantly be in use when streaming videos. This is a risk and only you can make the decision on whether or not it’s worth taking. Will it decrease the life of the device? Almost certainly. How much will it decrease the life by? As of yet I’ve not encountered any problems at all but I’ve only used it on devices that have standard mechanical 3.5″ hard-drives so they are pretty robust.
Some channels are only having sound without images/video, how to fix?
Several channels are not working/black screen/broken voice, how to do?
We can not promise all channels are working properly due to your Internet speed and other tech issue.
Picture on the screen is OK but there is no sound
double check Menu/Settings/TV Outputs – if all selected options are in compliance with connection of set-top box to your TV (depending on type of your TV) • check the connection of AV cable (if you are connected via AV cable or AV cable adaptor) • volume is down or MUTE button on remote control of set-top box or TV is pressed
incorrect setting of TV Outputs on set-top box. Use front panel of set-top box to correct it. • incorrect setting of TV Outputs on your TV (depending on type of your TV)
Channel list is empty
channel list is downloaded automatically once per 24 hours or by unplugging of set-top box from mains lead and plugging it in straight after • double check if set-top box is connected to internet network
No response to remote control
no remote control batteries in or remote control batteries exhausted • front panel obstructed
try to switch to another channel or restart set-top box by unplugging / plugging in from/to mains lead or unsufficient internet bandwidth
Square blocks picture
check if internet cable was not for some reason interrupted or damaged • restart set-top box
Quality of Picture is not satisfactory
check if Menu/Settings/TV Outputs are correctly set (depending on type of your TV)
Everything seems to be set correctly, but there are no channels in Channel list
• it could be causing by connection of a router between set-top box and internet cable – restart router and set-top box at the same time • check if diode on WAN port is lit (if it is not, disconnect/connect internet cable)
